The basic design of the pilot installation was undertaken partly in house and partly by an external partner selected by a bidding procedure. Through this collaboration the design of the plant was finalised on schedule and produced the layout of the plant and the specifications for each of the equipment using deliverable B.1.1 as input. The optimization of the reactor pipe was aided by a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study taking into consideration the efficient use of the magnesium oxide sorbent. The study was conducted by the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki after a bidding procedure. Both environmental and installation permits have been issued according to Greek and EU legislation.
